AFFONSO UCHÔA
Affonso Uchôa é cineasta. Seu primeiro filme, MULHER À TARDE (2010) foi exibido nos festivais Mostra de Tiradentes, Semana dos Realizadores e Festival Internacional do Uruguai, dentre outros. Também dirigiu A VIZINHANÇA DO TIGRE (2014), premiado na Mostra de Tiradentes (2014) e também em outros festivais como Olhar de Cinema e Fronteira. O filme foi exibido internacionalmente nos festivais Hamburgo Filmfest (Alemanha), Lussasdoc (França) e Viennale (Áustria), assim como em importantes instituições como a Cinemateca Francesa (França) e o Anthology Film Archive (EUA). É codiretor de ARÁBIA (2017), que teve sua estreia na competição principal do Festival Internacional de Roterdã (2017) e foi exibido em mais de 60 festivais ao redor do mundo. O filme recebeu cinco prêmios no Festival de Brasília (2017), incluindo o de melhor filme, e também foi premiado nos festivais Indielisboa (Portugal), Golden Apricot (Armenia) e BAFICI (Argentina). “Arábia” também foi eleito o melhor filme de 2018 nas votações da ABRACCINE, APCA, Folha de São Paulo e SESC Melhores Filmes, além de ter sido eleito um dos 100 melhores filmes da década pela International Cinephile Society (ICS). SETE ANOS EM MAIO (2019) é seu mais recente filme. Após a estreia no festival Visions du réel (Suiça), o filme foi exibido em outros festivais como Toronto (Canadá), Viennale (Áustria) e Mar del Plata (Argentina) e outros quase 40 festivais ao redor do mundo. “Sete Anos em Maio” ganhou prêmios nos festivais Indielisboa (Portugal), Filmadrid (Espanha) e Festival do Rio (Brasil), e foi eleito o melhor curta/média de 2019 pela ABRACCINE.

He is co-director of ARABIA (2017), which had his debut in the main competition of the Rotterdam International Festival (2017) and was shown in more than 60 festivals around the world. The film received five awards at the Brasília Festival (2017), including the best film, and was also awarded at the Indielisboa (Portugal), Golden Apricot (Armenia) and BAFICI (Argentina) festivals. “Arabia” was also voted the best film of 2018 in the votes of ABRACCINE, APCA, Folha de São Paulo and SESC Best Movies, in addition to being voted one of the 100 best films of the decade by the International Cinephile Society (ICS).
