No projeto Synthesizer, a beleza e a diversidade do mundo natural figuram-se num fascínio mágico, construído por meio de uma fotografia tomada não como um espelho para capturar a realidade, mas como um dispositivo para transcender nossa percepção do ambiente. Um processo experimental, que combina o uso de câmeras pinhole, objetivas vintage e brinquedos óticos numa abordagem lúdica que dá protagonismo ao acaso para dar a ver, ao menos um vislumbre da dimensão quase sobrenatural da natureza.

The beauty and diversity of the natural world are magic in the truest sense of the word. For me, this fascination goes beyond the purely visible. Even though photography is often used as a mirror to document the so-called reality, I love to see it as a medium to transcend our 1:1 perception of the environment. My experimental and widely uncontrollable photographic process plays an essential role in this effort. By combining self-made pinhole lenses, vintage camera objectives, and optical toys, I am trying to switch off the analytical part of the mind. Many images are blurry and diffuse – very often I cannot even remember, when or where I took the photos. This playful, chaotic approach befriends chance and catches at least a glimpse of the almost otherworldly beauty of nature.
