Makoto Oono usa uma grande variedade de elementos incluindo animais, plantas, frutas, peixes e insetos para criar paisagens de naturezas mortas refletindo sobre a descartabilidade das coisas e objetos utilizados em nossa vida diária. Este trabalho apresenta uma coleção de complexas composições visuais denominadas Separated hidden rules. Foi inspirado pela descoberta científica sobre como as programações genéticas encontradas em cada organismo vivo os direcionam, numa instância profunda da vida celular, independentemente de sua vontade ou desejos. Em suas imagens, a ideia moderna de controle sobre o mundo natural, assim como de domínio sobre as coisas criadas, parece frágil e insustentável, uma falsa sensação, diante das tantas camadas de sentido presentes em tudo o que ainda há para ser descoberto, conhecido e aprendido sobre nossa relação com a natureza.

All living organisms purchased and captured on the Internet are dropped on daily life. Makoto Oono uses a variety of places, including animals, plants, fruits, fish, insects, everywhere as a test site, and is temporarily inserted until the end of photo shooting. The living organisms, which are the key element to this process, move in an unpredictable way that makes us human beings anxious. By arranging some mysterious artifacts into the composition to add an extreme “unbalance” of the meaning of what these components are, this could no longer be identifiable as “what this picture is”. This work is a collection of traps named “Separated Hidden Rules”. The title was inspired by a surprising discovery of how the living organisms have a hidden will and a programmed gene that has a direction that moves freely. His approach shows the possibilities of photos in modern cities and is filled with both brutality and beauty simultaneously.
